Union Government has signed an historic and landmark peace accord with the Isaac Muivah faction of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN). The pact was signed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence at 7, Race Course Road in New Delhi on August 3, 2015. Nagaland is also known as epicenter of insurgency in north-eastern India. There was a ceasefire agreement in force since 1997. Many rounds of talks had taken place but peace had not dawned upon the state.
